Introducing TranscribeAny: Unlimited Transcription, Explained

What "Unlimited" actually means on Free, Pro and Business, what each plan includes, the real per-file limits, and which features need a paid plan.

October 16, 20269 min read

TranscribeAny turns audio and video into an editable, searchable transcript: upload a file, paste a link, or record straight from your browser. Every plan is named "Unlimited" because every plan gives you unlimited total transcription time and unlimited storage for your transcript and recording library. What changes between Free, Pro and Business is how long a single recording can be, how many you can start per day, and which AI and team features are unlocked. This guide walks through what you actually get on each plan, in plain terms.

What "Unlimited" means, specifically

On Free, Pro and Business alike, there is no cap on how many recordings you can keep, no expiry on stored transcripts, and no limit on your library's total running time. "Unlimited" refers to that total: your library and your cumulative transcription history. It does not mean every single recording can be any length, or that Free allows unlimited recordings per day; those two things are controlled separately by per-file and per-day limits, covered below.

Three ways to get a transcript

  • Upload a file: audio or video, prepared in your browser before it uploads, which keeps large video uploads smaller. Supported uploads can resume if your connection drops, and transcription continues in the queue even after you close the tab.
  • Paste a link: bring in audio or video from a link instead of a local file, on every plan.
  • Record live: capture your microphone in the browser and watch text appear as you speak. Live recording needs the page to stay open; it is not a background capture of another app's audio, and the optional upload cleanup filters and medical transcription mode don't apply to it.

Free Unlimited: try the real workflow, no card needed

Free Unlimited is a genuine working account, not a crippled trial. You get speaker separation, word-level timestamps, paragraph editing with find and replace, folders, library search, and all 15 export formats, the same export formats available on every paid plan.

  • 3 transcriptions per day, resetting at midnight UTC
  • Each recording up to 40 minutes long
  • Files up to 3 GB each
  • One file transcribing at a time, with no bulk upload queue
  • Unlimited storage for everything you've already transcribed

The daily count and the per-file length are two separate limits. Three short recordings and three forty-minute recordings both use up the same day's three transcriptions; length only matters per file, not for the daily count.

Pro Unlimited: no caps, plus AI

Pro Unlimited is $19 a month or $190 a year for one person, and removes the daily and length caps that apply on Free.

  • No daily transcription limit at all
  • Each recording up to 10 hours long, files up to 5 GB each
  • Upload up to 50 files into the queue at once
  • AI summaries, chapters, action items and Q&A on your transcripts
  • Translation into 100+ languages from the Translate view
  • Medical transcription, tuned for clinical terminology
  • Key terms, PII redaction and multi-channel audio support
  • Priority placement in the shared transcription queue

Business Unlimited: one shared library for a team

Business Unlimited gives everything in Pro to every seat, plus a shared workspace. It's sold yearly only, at $190 per seat per year, for 2 to 10 seats, billed to the workspace owner; there is no single-seat or monthly Business option.

  • Shared team library: workspace recordings are visible to the owner and verified members, not scattered across personal accounts
  • Workspace activity log so the team can see edits, renames, moves and AI actions
  • Highest priority in the transcription queue
  • Owner controls for public links, who can use the workspace's plan benefits, and regenerating existing AI insights
  • Everything in Pro Unlimited (AI insights, translation, medical transcription, key terms and PII redaction) for every seat

A pending invitation occupies a seat until it's accepted or removed, and the person accepting needs a verified email that matches the invitation. If you don't yet own or belong to any workspace, the "Myself (private)" and workspace destination choices simply don't appear when you record or upload, so your work stays private automatically until a workspace exists.

Where your recordings actually live

A private recording is visible only to the person who created it, and deleting it removes the stored audio, transcript, edits, insights and saved questions permanently, with no undo. A recording filed to a workspace instead goes to that workspace's 30-day recycle bin when deleted, so the owner can restore it before it's gone for good. Sharing a private recording afterward is not the same as filing it into a workspace from the start, and it doesn't retroactively grant the workspace's plan benefits.

Getting your transcript out

Every plan includes all 15 export formats (plain text, Word, PDF, SRT, VTT, Excel, CSV, JSON and more), with timestamps optional for reading formats (subtitle formats always keep their timing). Select several finished recordings at once from your library and download them together as a single ZIP, one folder per recording, in whichever formats you choose.

Nothing about export quality or format choice is paywalled. What a paid plan buys is length, volume, AI features, and, on Business, a shared team library. A one-minute voice memo on Free exports exactly the same formats as a ten-hour file on Business.

Compare Plans

Most people start on Free Unlimited to try the real transcript workflow, then move to Pro Unlimited once they need longer recordings, more than three a day, or AI summaries and translation. Teams move to Business Unlimited when they want one shared, searchable library instead of emailing exported documents around. If you're unsure which fits, our support team can help you work it out.
